[VIDEO] Your Mind is not a Computer, Access Your Creative Power

There are many teaching out there about how to re-wire or re-program your brain to think positive and to change your mind. Most teach from a Freudian model that the unconscious mind is just like a computer program, a repository of thoughts, beliefs and memories and conditioning. While some of that is true, just changing the conditioning still keeps you in ego conditioning. Sure, it may be a little better but there is no real transformation.

In this video, we teach you about the Jungian psychology of the psyche – Creative Power of the Unconscious Mind. We’ll go deeper into your psyche and explain how you can get REAL lasting transformation and access to your true potential.

Watch below and leave a comment to let us know what you think!

Deb: Hi, this is Debi and Dr. Rob! We’re transformational leaders in Jungian Spiritual Psychology, helping you have more love, success and more creativity in your life.

And these are just some informal talks introducing you to some incredible insights to how you can have those things in your life that you really want.

One of the things we want to talk about today is the unconscious mind and a lot of misunderstanding about what it is and what it entails. A lot of people think the unconscious mind is this repository of all our repressed feelings and our memories and it’s something to reprogram and then we’ll have a better life. And obviously, that’s a different model than what we teach.

Rob: Absolutely. They talk about it as if it was a computer program that needs to be reprogramed or some kind of hardwiring thing that’s going on. There’s definitely some aspects of the brain or the mind that work that way, like a computer. But Jung saw it very differently. He really saw that the unconscious was a creative and dynamic aspect of our mind and that if we’re able to tap into it and gain access to it, it’s really the source of creativity.

Deb: And Jung saw the unconscious basically in two levels. There’s the personal unconscious, which relates to our personal history and the things that happen to us personally and our life. And there’s the collective unconscious, which actually gives us access to our unlimited potential. It connects us to everyone in the world, every planet, every star. So we’re much more than just this little persona trying to reprogram our personal history. We are really dynamic, true, powerful beings.

Rob: Absolutely. And so the question becomes how do we tap into this great source, this great power within us? The first one is obviously dreams. The dreams are the royal road to the unconscious, like Freud said. But we also use visualizations because in visualizations we can access that part of our psyche and interact with it.

Deb: Some people do visualizations and they’re just visualizing their ideal future. And they’re feeling good and they’re dancing around with butterflies and going to living in their mansion or driving their sports car. But those things really don’t make big changes in your life. They’re just creating a fantasy and it’s not really working with your unconscious in the powerful aspect that we can.

And the type of visualizations that you should be doing to have change in your life is actually interactive visualizations where you’re actually talking to elements and symbols and watching for things show up in the visualization to bring more information to consciousness. And the creative unconscious really is there. It’s almost like this higher intelligent part of you that’s trying to get information to you. It’s trying to show and share. It’s not just like this dormant closet of information that’s just waiting for your conscious mind to interact with. It’s actually speaking to you. So when we do this work, Jungian work, we’re actually creating a conversation and a relationship with our deeper selves.

Rob: Absolutely. That relationship that we cultivate with the unconscious mind gives us access to that creative power that it has. Our part on the conscious level is really to direct it to be in tune with it, in alignment with it and to decipher its messages. Obviously, the unconscious is speaking a different language. In dreams, you’ll notice that it’s a symbolic language. It’s a very visual language that speaks in puns often. And Jung gave us a way to decipher that symbolic language so that we can discern the messages that are coming through.

Deb: A lot of people will remember their dreams and think, ‘I had a dream about my boss,’ and they take it literally and they think it’s a prediction of what might happen in the future. But when we think about the collective unconscious, these are symbols that your unconscious is bringing familiar people into your life into these dreams to give you a message. And if you learn how to work with these messages, you could really create and amazing life for yourself and have more access to this intelligent that’s within you.

Dreams, visualizations and also, Jung came up with the term synchronicity. And I love that idea that the outside world and the waking world, our collective unconscious is actually communicating through us with we think something happened by chance or we think of something and it shows up. Those synchronistic events are actually our wiser self inside showing us, ‘Hey! I’m listening inside. I’m showing you the direction to go.’

So imagine having this powerful force that is really ready and willing to help you get those things you want, to help you find the love of your life, to help you have a better relationship, to help you have more money, more success and really, more happiness. And so I think what happens is that we forget that we have so much inside of us and we’re so much more than our persona and we can create so much with it.

Rob: Yes. If you want to start today, start paying attention to your dreams. A lot of people tell us, ‘I can’t remember my dreams,’ or, ‘I don’t dream.’ That’s not true. Everyone dreams every night. All you have to do is put a pad and pencil/pen by your bed and write down something that you recall of the night. If you didn’t have any dreams or you can’t remember any dreams, just write that down. And as you start that process, you’ll start to improve your recall.

Deb: And if you can recall your dreams already, here’s the next step. Before you go to bed at night, think about a question you’d like to ask your unconscious mind to give you insight or direction to where you need to go or what you need to do to get whatever you want. So you can go to sleep and say, ‘Why am I not finding the love of my life,’ or, ‘How can I make more money in my business,’ or, ‘What should I be doing with my life.’

And then I want you to pay attention to the dreams you have that night, write them down in the morning and they’re encoded with the symbolic messages to give you that very answer. So, you really have the ability to access all the answers you ever need in your life within yourself.

We hope you enjoy that exercise. We hope you go deeper into your unconscious mind and see it as more as a living, breathing, dynamic, creative force within you instead of just a dormant program that you’re trying to rewire. There’s so much more to you and we want you to live a life that’s really powerful and unlimited!

Rob: That’s right! So we’ll see you on our next video!

Deb: Take care, everyone!
